Hello Friends!
I would like to introduce myself as Sports Director at Holy Family Radio. I am excited for the opportunity to serve Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Church!
I am originally from Lima, but have lived in Elida for most of my life. Now, I currently reside in Bowling Green. I am a 2011 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Sport Communication.
My most recent professional experience in sport media was as a Sports Intern at 1150 WIMA Radio in Lima during the spring of 2011. I helped Sports Director, Todd Walker, with all of the operations of the sports department, as well as other general radio tasks for the station. Prior to WIMA, I was Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Lima Locos of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League during the summer of 2010. I served in many capacities for the Locos. My main responsibilities were play-by-play broadcaster, Web site writer, and official statistician. In the spring of 2010, I was an Intern at WTLW TV-44 Sports. Here, my responsibilities included filming and editing highlights and writing shot sheets for the anchors.
In the midst of most of these experiences, I was also working for Bowling Green State University as a Football Video Assistant. I would film and edit practices and games. One of the benefits of having this job was that I was able to travel with the team and visit places like Troy, AL, Tulsa, OK, Philadelphia, PA, and Ann Arbor, MI. Additionally, throughout my academic career at BGSU, I was a member of the Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization. The BGRSO is a student-run organization for people interested in sports broadcasting. The BGRSO broadcasts more games than any other college station in the United States.
A second job that I am currently undertaking is as Newman Housing Manager at St. Thomas More University Parish in Bowling Green. I oversee the apartments where we house BGSU students at the Parish. A third job I have obtained is as an On-Air Talent for the West Ohio Sports Network in Lima.
Now you are probably wondering about my Catholic faith life, right? I am happy to have the opportunity to share that with you! I am a “cradle Catholic” from St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Lima. However, after falling away from the faith, I converted back to the Catholic Church during my college career in the winter of 2009-2010. I finally accepted the invitation of Christ by way of St. Thomas More. I became involved with Veritas, the student organization on campus for Catholic students, and many St. Thomas More ministries, which continue to this day.
I have been involved with various service trips, such as Alternative Spring Break last March in Louisa, KY, where a group of STM students and staff spent a week serving the poor of Appalachia. I am an advocate of 40 Days for Life and a member of Companions for Life, a pro-life organization at St. Thomas More. I have never been to the March for Life in Washington, D.C. before, so I hope to do that this winter!
As Sports Director at Holy Family Radio, I direct and operate the entire sports department. We are getting ready to launch our coverage of high school sports this basketball season, beginning in late November. We will cover high school sports on-air as well as on our Website, Facebook, and Twitter. Be sure to check it all out!
In closing, I want you all to know that I serve in these roles all for the Greater Glory of God! I try to answer His Call each day, and I am very excited to see where Jesus leads me next! I invite you to email me with ideas, thoughts, concerns, comments, etc. at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
Thank you and take care!
